Tracy Baim and Owen Keehnen’s Leatherman: The Legend of Chuck Renslow (Prairie Avenue Publications, 2011) chronicles the life of Chicago leather pioneer Chuck Renslow — founder of the Gold Coast bar, International Mr. Leather, and the Leather Archives & Museum. Jack Fritscher, who came out at Renslow’s Gold Coast and later married Renslow’s bartender David Sparrow, wrote of his own history with Renslow in a Bay Area Reporter essay on the book.
