J. Brian (Donohue), filmmaker, wrote and directed Seven in a Barn (1969), among the first hardcore feature films, and went on to complete ten films altogether. He also ran a modeling and escort agency from his Nob Hill office in San Francisco between 1969 and 1972, representing several hundred young men to a discreet clientele. Jack Fritscher interviewed Brian at his Castro district home on April 29, 1980, in a conversation later adapted into the screenplay J. Brian’s Flashbacks and serialized with photographs in Honcho (1982) and the California Action Guide (1982)
